You are already 4 months old. I cannot believe how fast time has gone!

You have not had your 4 month appointment yet, but last week you weighed in around 13 lbs. You are wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers. I love all of your cute outfits and it seems like you grow right out of them.

You are still eating on a 3 hour schedule, but some lucky nights you will sleep a good 8-9 hour stretch. You still are struggling with reflux and are taking Prilosec twice daily, but we may be switching to Prevacid soon as you are on the maximum dose of Prilosec. You spit up a lot and choke frequently, which can be pretty scary especially for anyone who helps watch you.

You are such a happy baby! You love to watch Chase run around and play. You have started laughing out loud, which is so stinking cute! I absolutely love our little conversations we have. You love to imitate the sounds I make.

You look so much like Chase did as a baby. Your hair is dark, but is starting to lighten up. Your eyes are still a dark blue and look like they may be getting some darker spots. Not sure if they will turn brown like daddy's or stay blue like mine and Chase's?

Chase still adores you! He loves to talk to you and make you laugh. He loves laying next to you on your play mat. He still call you his little princess. I cannot think of anything sweeter than seeing the two of you smiling at one another! I am so blessed to have the two of you as my children!Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-78733293474862007332011-12-05T14:00:00.000-08:002011-12-07T14:31:38.140-08:003 months old!!!My dear sweet Isabella,

You are 3 months old and growing so quickly!!! You look just like Chase did as a baby!

You are such a happy baby! You smile all of the time. You are rarely fussy. When you are fussy, you love to bounce with mommy on the big Swiss ball. Thanks for the tip Aunt JJ! Wish I would have done this with Chase!

You love to lay on your mat and look at the lights. Peek-a-boo is your favorite game to play. You absolutely love to laugh and you get tickled so easily.

You are still working on holding your head up on your own. You can do it for a few seconds and then it starts to wobble.

You still spit up quite a bit, and we continue to increase your reflux medicine. you hate the taste of your Prilosec so we switched to grape flavoring and you seem to be doing a little better with it. I mostly have to mix it in your bottles to get you yo take it.

You have slept through the night four times and we are looking forward to many more!! You usually wake up to feed around 3 am and 5:30 am. You are now officially sleeping in your crib.

I love to dress you up in all of your pretty clothes, but you are growing so fast! sometimes we put you in pretty outfits just to go to the doctor or to drop Chase off at MDO.

Chase adores you! He wakes up every morning and says "How's my little princess?" He hates to hear you fuss and immediately will say "Bella needs something!" He likes to "check" on you and he loves to help with feeding and burping you.

So much has happened. My sweet baby Bella is now 2 months old. She is starting to sleep one longer stretch at night, but still wakes around 3 am to feed again. She is growing so much. She weighed 11 lbs 6 oz at her appointment last week. She is wearing size 3-6 months clothes and size 1-2 diapers. Chase adores her. He always wants to check on her and help feed her, calm her if she is crying, and play with her on her play mat. He says things like "how's my little princess" and "hi baby! I'm so glad you're home!" Completely melts my heart! I am so blessed to have such wonderful children and an amazing husband!Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-30312173104700047242011-07-16T12:25:00.000-07:002011-07-17T12:37:20.879-07:00I'm 30 weeks
I'm 30 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 30 Weeks

Size of baby: Head of lettuce

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Too much to track!

Gender: GIRL!!!!

Movement: She is pretty active! Right now she is head down. Let's hope she stays that way for delivery!

Sleep: Getting up to use the bathroom every 3-4 hours, but overall still sleeping well

What I miss: Wishing I could go shopping for this little lady and hang out with my friends for all of their kiddos birthday parties

Cravings: Still loving the watermelon. Also, have been eating more ice cream! Chase is loving that he gets to eat ice cream everytime I do!

Symptoms: Fatigue and puffiness. Contractions are continuing. Unfortunately, I did not have quite as good of a check up this last week. My cervical length went down by a centimeter and I had some funneling. I had to get betamethasone shots to help develop her lungs in case of early delivery. I will now be going twice a week for check ups.

Best Moment this week: I passed my 3 hour glucose tolerance test! Woo hoo!
Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-48849971641541596242011-07-08T07:38:00.000-07:002011-07-08T07:38:49.938-07:0029 weeks!!!I am growing by leaps and bounds! I can't believe we have made it this far and I am still at home. Yeah!! Bed rest at home is so much better than bed rest in the hospital. I get to see my little man all the time, which is amazing! I love being able to spend so much time with him and watching him grow and change. He is becoming so independent in everything he does. He is also so smart. He comes up with the funniest comments. One day he was climbing on the ottoman and fell down. I asked him if he fell and was hurt and he replied, "No, I'm stretching!" Nice cover! It will be hard to leave him to go back to work in several months.

I just got the results of my glucose screen and am bummed to find out I failed the test. Now I have to go back and do the 3 hour test. I had to do that when I was pregnant with Chase and it was awful. At least then I had the hospital bed to lay in while I was waiting. This time I will have to sit in the office. Yuck! Also, found out I am anemic and will be starting on iron. I have my next OB appointment next week so we will get to see how baby is doing at that appointment.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-40680520836115813362011-06-22T11:05:00.000-07:002011-06-22T11:05:19.833-07:00Home to be with the heavenly Father
My aunt Judy passed away a couple of days ago after battling cancer.

These are so much fun to make with your kids, even if they are a little too young to understand the meaning. I love Easter. The deviled eggs. The yummy food. And hiding eggs. SO. MUCH.FUN.

Happy Easter!

INGREDIENTS:

Cresent Rolls

Melted Butter

Large Marshmallows

Cinnamon sugar

Give each child a triangle shape of the crescent roll. The triangle shape is to represent the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in. Read Matthew 27:57-61 1. Give each child a marshmallow. This represents Jesus. 2. Have him/her dip the marshmallow in melted butter. This represents the oils of embalming. 3. Dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar which represents the spices used to anoint the body. 4.Wrap up the coated marshmallow tightly in the crescent roll (not like a typical crescent roll up, but bring the sides up and seal the marshmallow inside.) This represents the wrapping of Jesus' body after death. 5.

Place in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. (The oven represents the tomb - pretend like it was three days!) 6. Let the rolls cool slightly. The children can open their rolls (cloth) and discover that Jesus is no longer there, HE IS RISEN!!!! (The marshmallow melts and the crescent roll is puffed up, but empty.)

Now read Matthew 28:5-8 Explain: At the tomb, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary saw an angel, who told them not to be afraid. No one had taken Jesus' body, but He Had risen from the dead! The angel told the women to go and tell the disciples what they had seen, that Jesus had risen from the dead. They were so excited, they ran all the way home to tell the disciples the good news! He is risen from the dead! After that Jesus appeared in person to Peter, then to the 12 disciples and after that, to more than 500 people. Jesus' appearance to eyewitnesses, those who saw Him with their own eyes, would give support and prove that Jesus rose from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).

By rising from the dead, Jesus proved once and for all that He was the Messiah, the Savior of the World, the Chosen One, and the Lamb of God. By dying on the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus did what no other had ever done before. As both God and man, He overcame sin, death, and hell. And now because of what Jesus has done, these things no longer have any power over those who believe in Jesus and allow His Spirit to lead and direct them.

Rather than being slaves to sin and death, Christians ( those who love and believe in Jesus) are free to obey God and do good ( Romans 6:17-18). The Bible says in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed." However, we will only obey God if we listen to the Holy Spirit our helper. He enables believers in Jesus to do the right thing. It is important that we read the Bible (God's Word) because one of the ways the Holy Spirit helps us obey God is by reminding us of what He says to us in His Word. God's Spirit will never go against his Word. In fact, when we read God's Word, we are listening to the Holy Spirit.

Of course, you won't always do the right thing; the Bible says this ) 1 John 1:5-10). But that is why we need to continue to confess our sins knowing that God forgives us, based on what Jesus did on the cross.

Chase absolutely loved making these! He did not fully understand what each step represented, but as he gets older this can be something he looks forward to doing and when he gets what it represents it will be an amazing day!

Happy Easter!!!
Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-78037589685893811652011-04-19T08:42:00.000-07:002011-05-03T12:25:17.882-07:00BOY OR GIRL???I just had my 17 week ultrasound and appointment. Everything is going smoothly. I am definitely eager to be off from bed rest, but still have a long way to go. I have been getting ultrasounds every 2 weeks to check my cervix/cerclage as well as the baby. Matt could not make it to my appointment today so we had the ultrasound tech check the sex of the baby and she concealed it in a sealed envelope. When I got home I entrusted the envelope to Steph (our nanny) who agreed to make us a special gender reveal cake. The cake was either to be pink or blue depending on if it is a girl or boy. She baked the cake and iced it in white icing with cute Easter decorations since Easter is right around the corner. I had to wait all day long for Matt to get home from work before we could slice into that cake and find out if we are having a boy or girl. As soon as he got home we called our parents and sisters and sliced in. The cake was PINK, which means we are having a baby girl!!!!! I'm so excited and cannot wait to start planning the nursery and finding all of the cute outfits.
I couldn't be happier. We have told a few people already as we have seen them, but have not made an announcement. I wanted to wait until I was at least 12 weeks so we could feel a little more secure. We have told Chase and he likes to say he is having a "baby sister!" We will see if he is right. I feel like I have so much to get done, but so little energy to do any of it! I'm just hoping to stay out of the hospital with this pregnancy. As many of you know I spent about 3 months hospitalized when I was pregnant with Chase. Although it was well worth it in the end, I would hate to have to go through that again (especially with Chase at home this time around!) Here is a snapshot of what's going on.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 12 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby B is the size of a lime

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 11 lbs Boo!!! He was not so interested in the music today and decided to spend his time playing with the toys. The guy performing did a great job and there were definitely some other little tots very into singing and dancing.

After the sing along was over we headed to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. God bless the guy that was our waiter! With four toddlers I'm sure he was not super excited to see us, but you would have never known! He came with sliced bread and bananas upon our arrival. He must have some experience in this area!! We found out later he has three at home and one on the way. (I knew he must have some experience!) After we were finished eating it was closing in on naptime, so we said our goodbyes and headed home. Chase had a fantastic day hanging with his lady friends!Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-32186454318921457742010-11-27T14:25:00.000-08:002010-12-02T14:44:56.193-08:00Chase's 2nd birthday party<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Chase's 2nd birthday came so fast! I can not believe my baby is 2 already! He is such a big boy now! He loves trains, so naturally we had a train themed birthday party. I wanted to do some Thomas the Train accents, but I didn't want the whole party centered around Thomas. So, I found such cute invites and accessories from Parties by Hardie!

Since his party was around lunch time and I wanted to be a simple as possible with the food, we ordered pizza. Plus, who doesn't love pizza? I decided to do all of the other treats in blue and red. We had swedish fish and blue gummy sharks. We had blue and red popcorn from Just Pop In, one of my favorite places to get yummy treats. We did blue and red pretzel M&Ms. Chase loves his M&Ms! We also did blue and red Jelly Belly jellybeans. His cake was Thomas the Train pull apart cupcakes!!! Yummy! There was not a shortage of sugar at this party!

My sister made Chase the cutest birthday shirt with a number 2 in Thomas the Train fabric! My sister in law took all the pics, so I'm waiting to get those to add into this post. I will update as I get them!

I think by far his most favorite part of the party were his balloons!! He had a blast playing with them! I will admit I almost didn't get them, but now I'm so glad I did! He loved them, maybe even more than the trainset he got for his birthday!Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-29107640214865034062010-10-31T21:59:00.000-07:002010-11-01T17:12:39.081-07:00Halloween festivitiesThis weekend we went to Jasper to visit my sister. This was the first time we were able to get Chase together with all of my nieces. They were all so cute. My sister planned a Halloween party on Saturday. The menu consisted of pecan crusted chicken tenders, spicy buffalo chicken wraps, spinach & artichoke dip, Waldorf salad, cheese, crackers, Sangria, and yummy sugar cookies that my niece Addie deocrated. Chase wore his Superman costume. Addie and Sophie dressed up like Minnie Mouse. Kinsey was a giraffe. We were a bit disappointed when we realized we did not get a pic of all the kids dressed up in their costumes. The kids had a great time. They got to decorate pumpkins and went home with treat bags full of toys and snack foods. Chase's treat bag came in handy on the three hour car ride home.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-10402824509120005402010-10-28T14:36:00.000-07:002010-10-28T14:36:13.494-07:00Trunk or TreatLast night we took Chase to Trunk or Treat, an event held by our church every year for little ones to trick or treat. He had so much fun! He seemed to like suckers the most. Every stop where he got to choose his own candy, he always picked a sucker.
My mother-in-law planned a special get-together for everyone to be able to meet Chase. Nana, Matt, Chase, and I left for Wisconsin on Thursday afternoon. After a flight delay we finally made it in to town and we're able to make it just in time for Papa's football game. We had to stop off at Target to get some hats and gloves because it was freezing (& who doesn't love a good trip to Target!) Chase absolutely loved watching the game. He was so intent watching every play. He loved being able to visit with daddy and Papa briefly during half-time. At the end of the game he got to run out on the field. After several minutes of playing (and being waaaay past bedtime) I finally pulled him off the field. He wasn't too happy about that, but he got to carry the football home and that seemed to do the trick. He even wanted to sleep with the ball, but we were able to sneak it out of his pack and play. First thing the next morning he said "football," which actually sounds more like "sh*tball" and started his day carrying around the football. The next morning we took a quick hike through the forest. The leaves at this time of year are amazing. Chase loved riding on Papa's shoulders.
Later that day we went to Kohler Design Center and then the ladies got to do some shopping across the way. Talk about a great afternoon! We met up with Aunt JJ and the boys for dinner. Despite the not-so-great service we had great food. We started the next morning getting ready for the party. My mother-in-law planned a fabulous menu. I got to meet some new friends and visit with some old friends. Chase had fun playing with some kids before finally begging for "nap time." After we put him down for a nap Matt and I slipped away to head to Appleton to meet up with Diron. We had a great time hanging with Diron, Mike & Amy, Aunt JJ, and Marty. Matt and I had to head back to Plymouth so we could head out early this morning. The rest of the gang is still going strong at the Packers/Vikings game right now.

We had such a great time! We can't wait to see everyone again in a few weeks.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-42708826210901259382010-10-17T19:31:00.000-07:002010-10-17T19:36:22.943-07:00Most PreciousMy mom called me yesterday to remind me that today was the big day where the judges would announce the winners for the contest we entered Chase in last month. The contest proceeds benefit Riley Hospital and since my niece is a Riley baby I thought this would be a perfect cause. We entered him in the most beautiful and most precious categories for the one year olds. He did not want anything to do with having his picture taken that day. He was crying so hard and did not even let me put him down. He was holding onto me like a monkey. I was amazed with the shots the photographer was able to get due to his lack of cooperation! We picked two pics and entered those. I called my mom on my way to hear the judging and she told me they had already announced him as a runner-up for most beautiful for his age group. Right as I walked in they had just announced him as winner of most precious for his age group!!!! He got his first two trophies today! So cute! Plus they raised over $4000 for Riley! What a great cause! I brought his trophies home and showed them to him. He was so excited to carry them around even though he has no clue what they are or what they are for.

Here is the pic of the most beautiful:

And the WINNER OF THE MOST PRECIOUS:

Isn't he adorable? Maybe he has a future in modeling afterall! Best part is we get to keep all of the pictures (even the ones with him crying!)Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6795507683329810815.post-86948781841075840962010-10-13T18:39:00.000-07:002010-10-13T18:39:42.443-07:00Big office moveMatt spent last weekend moving to his new office. Chase absolutely loves the new office. We went there Saturday morning to check it out and he loved running around in all of the free space. He even christened the new office with crumbs from his blueberry muffin. What an exhausting week for Matt and the office staff. It's never fun moving. I hope they get all settled in soon and that the new hires will be a great addition to his already wonderful team.

What a bittersweet journey! Matt has only known one office and has been blessed with meeting so many wonderful people during the time he was there. Now it's time to move forward and go in a new direction. I know he will do wonderful things. I am looking forward to continue to watch him grow and support our family. He is such a wonderful provider for us. I continue to ask for God's blessings as we move forward.Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10147532375370618227noreply@blogger.com0
